The Chondola officially opened to skiers and riders the night of December 20, 2008.  A crowd of several hundred turned out to share in the festivities which included music, a presentation from the presidents of Boyne Resorts and CNL Lifestyle Properties, a dedication from Governor Baldacci, a parade of snowmobiles and groomers, fireworks and more.  Most importantly, the first skiers and riders were able to finally ride the new lift and ski Sunday River under the lights for the first time.
